Intro to Addressable LEDs

Join us at this workshop, a fundamental exploration of addressable LED technology, using strips of lights that can be coded and programmed to create different lighting sequences.

Participants will engage in hands-on, basic Arduino skills to control the colours of individual LED lights.

Who’s this for?
This workshop is for anyone 10+ (under 18s MUST be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the workshop) with an interest in electronics, light installations, physical computing, or programming.


What you need

  • A laptop that can connect to the internet

  • Please download www.arduino.cc before the workshop. If you struggle to download it please arrive 15mins earlier and we will be able to help you

Cost
Tickets cost £3. After the event, you can choose to be refunded or donate your ticket to MadLab CIC to support future community-led events. Refunds will be processed within seven working days. About the facilitator
Chris Ball is a Manchester-based freelance creative technologist. He works to facilitate the use of technology within the arts, and has completed projects with both local and international artists requiring skills in electronics, programming, interaction, design and fabrication.
